In the southwestern part of Ireland in County Kerry is Killarney National Park, famous for its picturesque scenery. At the center of the park is Macross House, a mansion built in the 19th century. It was once visited by Queen Victoria, whose visit it took almost 10 years for the mansion's owners to prepare for. The mansion is surrounded by a beautiful garden, which you can walk around on foot or take a ride in an antique carriage. There are several hiking trails through Killarney National Park that pass picturesque lakes and mountains. The highlight of the western part of the park is an 11-kilometer drive over the narrow and rocky Dunlow Pass, carved by glaciers at the end of the Ice Age.

Glendaloch is a valley in County Wicklow, in the east of Ireland. It is one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. In the sixth century, St. Kevin founded a settlement in the valley, which over time became what is known as the Monastic City. One of the main attractions in the valley is a round tower about 30 meters high, built of slate alternating with granite. The tower has six floors connected by wooden stairs. The first four floors are illuminated through a single small window, while the top floor is equipped with four windows facing the four sides of the world. The tower was used as a bell tower and also served sometimes as a storehouse and place of refuge during attacks.
